This is a high-efficiency (condensing) furnace that shows the primary exchanger (A), often called a serpentine heat exchanger due to its “S” shape, and the lower, secondary heater exchanger (B). We cut away a portion of the collector box cover to show where exhaust gases pass from the primary to the secondary heat exchanger.
